[Suntec City] @ramennagisingapore Why are people raving over this? The Original BUTAO King ($13.90) was neither thick nor rich-yet perhaps what bugged me more was the underlying spiciness from the added chilli which I felt hindered the pork flavour in the broth. The squid ink, garlic and sesame in the Black King ($15.90) were all very strong flavours which overpowered each another-resulting in a confusing thick peppery black broth which had only faint hints of garlic, and that same kick of spiciness from the chilli. The Green King ($15.90) had basil, olive oil and Parmesan cheese- eat this only if you love pesto and hate ramen. Unique flavours yes, but I certainly wouldn’t add that to a tonkotsu broth to render it completely unrecognisable. The pork cheek and belly could also be softer. Despite all that, I enjoyed the black pepper marinated bean sprouts-until we were told off by the waitress, that they were meant to be added to the ramen and we weren’t supposed to “snack on them”. I’m a spicy ramen fan lover so I decided to try their Red King (Akao) $15.90! You can customise everything from the richness of taste, special sauce, garlic, pork, vegetable, firmness of noodle n spicy level to your liking. I went with the Chef recommendation which is level 6 spiciness for Red King and soft firmness of noodle texture. It looks red and spicy but it’s not very spicy for me so I would go for another few more level of spiciness for my next visit!! 🌶🌶 I’m not really a spring onion fan but I enjoyed their freshly cut spring onion in this ramen 🍜 I also added a $2 Tamago 🥚to try.. it’s been so long since we last had a perfect ramen tamago with soft bouncy egg white and eggy flowy yolk! Yummms! The ramen came in a huge portion with generous ramen noodles (which I personally couldn’t finish).. it also comes with 2 big thinly sliced pork which melts in your mouth when you bites. I’m so so so in love with this Red King Ramen!!! It’s super awesome and addictive, you can’t stop once you start eating! Best comfort food for this cold weather! Beat the crowd and arrive just before lunchtime to avoid long Qs! We are so in love with their Original King (Butao), cost SGD $13.90 (top up $2 for a Tamago!m to go with your ramen) Portion is pretty huge for the price, comes with tons of spring onions which is so freshly cutted and 2 big thinly sliced pork! Truly their award winning tonkotsu pork both.. its so shiok, rich and flavourful! Everything is customisable here, from their richness of taste, special sauce, garlic, pork, vegetables and firmness of noodles. Just had Ramen Nagi with fam and they lied that this Red Kind ($15.90) wasn't spicy BUT IT WAS. Also, the pork belly here is so so good 🤤
