January 11, 2015 Spaghetti ai Porcini e Gamberi – spaghetti aglio olio with porcini mushrooms, chilli padi and prawns. Sample this blindfolded and you might just mistake this for good old-fashioned Hokkien Mee. The prawns and mushrooms, which could have reinforced the notion that this is ultimately still aglio olio, didn’t help much – they were undergoing puberty and playing truant respectively. 3

January 11, 2015 Zuppa di Mare – seafood soup concocted with prawn, clam, mussel and squid in spicy tomato sauce, white wine and basil leaves. Thick, rich and comforting.
